SEE ELECTIONMALL
ElectionMall can now be seen at the Democratic National Convention and the Republican National Conventions introducing their up and running VoterSpace.com, a place where voters can circulate widgets for favorite candidates and send their own “eYardsign” or electronic messages via the web. VoterSpace is a single location in virtual space where candidates can interact with voters and voters can interact with candidates. VoterSpace makes it possible for hundreds of candidates to have a web presence in minutes. See what the buzz is about on the New Mexico Democratic Party Website,
www.nmdemocrats.org, where convention visitors are testing out the VoterSpace and posting Obama Greeting Cards.
THIS MONTH’S CAMPAIGN TACTIC:
Thinking voters are individuals who want to know the candidate – the man or woman behind the political suit. Unlike most voters who vote according to ideology, this segment of voter (5 - 7 %) makes their final decision based on what they like or dislike about a candidate. When you consider that two out of three contested races are decided by a 5% margin or less, you can’t afford to ignore this small segment of needy voters (Source, How to Win a Local Election by Judge Lawrence Grey). Make sure your campaign website, direct mail, email blasts, and online advertising give your candidate a way to be liked. ElectionMall offers a wide assortment of features that makes your candidate likeable and more accessible such as our avatar technology, embedded video, and mobile messaging. Go to

Breathing Exercise
Now that this final battle has begun, remember that personality and charm can go a long way in winning over the hearts of voters. This not only includes your candidate but your entire staff. Take time to talk with people at your events and watch how a shared vision and the meeting of minds can bring you some serenity in the midst of this election storm.
New Vocabulary
Convention bounce: A temporary rise in opinion polls following widespread coverage of a party’s national convention. The term was coined as early as 1980, when it was used by Jody Powell, President Carter’s spokesman. Powell described the psychological lift from Carter’s increase in ratings as “the post-convention bounce we hoped for.”
Coffee-klatsch campaign: A method of campaigning in urban areas where the candidate meets small groups of voters at a “coffee hour”. Cocktail parties lend themselves to fundraising and soon become full out parties while the coffee klatsch (Klatsch is German for noise, akin to the English “clatter”) offers a candidate an opportunity to meet about twenty-five people personally, make a brief talk, and move on. The coffee klatsch is usually given by one of the voters. It costs the host little and has proven an effective technique for apartment-house dwellers.

Did You Know?
Did you know that viewing candidate debates on television or in person increases turnout? Studies show that viewers will vote at a higher rate even if they don’t have a strong interest in politics (Source Get Out The Vote by Donald Green and Alan Gerber). ElectionMall offers avatar technology enabling your campaign debates to be viewed on your website. Keep voters on your website watching these animated candidate characters debate the issues. See how these viewers convert into votes for your candidate on Election Day. Visit www.voterspace.com today. FYI, ElectionMall was the first company to present this unique hosting solution for the 2004 presidential debates.
