Campaign with the Holiday Spirit
Holidays are about spending time with family and friends but if you are running a presidential campaign this year or have campaign responsibilities, you may be reading polling numbers as you sit by the fire.
With the Iowa caucuses set for January 3rd and New Hampshire January 8th, it may be hard to sit down for some hot cocoa while sprinting to send out your next email blast.
ElectionMall.com makes it easy to reach out to your supporters in a way that respects the season. Design your own holiday greeting card that arrives between Christmas and New Years. Send post cards that don’t take a long time to read and are powerful for issue campaigns. Try out ElectionMall's jumbo yardSign card, which allows
voters to actually place the direct mail piece in their windows and show support.
ElectionMall also carries specific fundraising cards that can be used for contributions and/or as special invites for fundraising events. Use our compare and contrast cards that inform voters on where candidates stand on critical issues. Then there is always the classic urgent reminder card that can increase your absentee ballots, early voting and voter registration. Inform voters on polling locations and give them that last minute message that could make the difference on election day. Tis the season.

Building Awareness
"5" ways to not irritate your voters during the holiday season
Even though you are immersed in politics and are plotting the next campaign battle, being sensitive to your voters’ down time for the holidays is a good way to stay in their good graces.
Here are some ground rules:
- Use the qualities of the season to drive your point, such as peace on earth and good will to all men and women.
- Communicate a visionary, enduring message and reaffirm your commitment to serve the people.
- Be relevant to your demographic.
- Offer ideas that your voters can mull over and talk about over the holidays.
- Avoid blatant attacks on your opponent – if you must, use humor. In other words, don’t be mean. After the New Year, you won’t need to pull punches.

Today's Voter Space
To reach today’s voters, remember the yardSign and embrace the widget. Widgets are icons or graphical interface elements that allow internet users to perform a desired function, like donate to a campaign, become a volunteer or host a campaign party. According to the research firm comScore Media Metrix, Inc., 40.3 % of all internet users who visited a website during April 2007 were exposed to some sort of embedded widget.
Widgets can be a useful tool to bring in donations from multiple sites with just a small amount of effort and also provide valuable links to polling information or voter registration forms for Get-Out-The-Vote drives.
“Voters are rallying around their candidates and taking it upon themselves to promote their favorite candidates,” said ElectionMall CEO and Founder Ravi Singh, “Just like how campaigns provide yardSigns to all their supporters, campaigns need to make available tools that allow their supporters to place electronic yardSigns on their blogs and Facebook pages.”
Much like the traditional aspect of supporters placing campaign signs in their front lawn to show their support for a specific candidate, younger voters are showing their support for specific candidates by placing these electronic yardSigns on their MySpace and Facebook pages.
ElectionMall was the first to offer electronic yardSigns in the 2000 campaign. |
